Odimodi Welcomes the General Public to the Grand Finale of the 2025 Abadezongo Festival Today

Odimodi, Delta State – The picturesque town of Odimodi is set to host the grand finale of the 2025 Abadezongo Festival today, January 28th, marking the climax of a vibrant cultural celebration that commenced on January 25th.

The highly anticipated event is chaired by Snr. High Chief Bibopre Ajube and promises to attract a host of dignitaries and cultural enthusiasts from across the Niger Delta. The Royal Fathers of the Day include His Royal Majesty Pere Joel Ekeni Ibane JP., Ogiobo-IX, the Grand Pere of Iduwini Kingdom in Bayelsa State, and His Royal Majesty Bosu Dio JP., Ayamabulou-I, the Ibenanawei of Iduwini Kingdom in Delta State.

Adding prestige to the occasion are Special Guests of Honour such as Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, CEO of Maton Engineering Ltd.; High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi, MD of Tantita Security Services Ltd.; His Excellency Peremobowei Ebebi, former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State; Rt. Hon. Franc Enekorogha, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly; Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, HoR, Abuja; Hon. Daniel Reyeneju, former member representing Warri Federal Constituency, HoR, Abuja; and Chief Dr. Julius Takeme JP., Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council.

The festival promises a rich display of cultural heritage, featuring the mesmerizing Finkorobina masquerade in the morning and Abadezongo masquerade later in the day, which are significant symbols of the Odimodi people’s cultural heritage and traditions.

Entertainment for the evening will include stellar performances from renowned acts such as Chief Barrister S. Smooth, famously known as the Paddle of Africa, alongside FC D Storyteller and Dollar Girl. The lineup guarantees an unforgettable experience for attendees, blending traditional and contemporary artistry.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to witness this remarkable occasion, which showcases the vibrant culture, unity, and resilience of the Odimodi people. The festival not only celebrates tradition but also serves as a beacon of the Iduwini rich history and community spirit.

As the third phase national chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), I, General Godstime Ogidigba, would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the PAP administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro. The launch of the second phase of laptop distribution to amnesty scholarship beneficiaries is a testament to his dedication to enhancing the learning and research capabilities of our students. I am proud of the strides his administration has taken to prioritize the welfare of our students, marking a significant shift in the narrative of the PAP program.

Under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, the PAP has witnessed a positive transformation. For the first time in almost a decade, we are seeing tangible results that reflect the program’s true potential. His commitment to the welfare of our students is commendable, and I am confident that his administration will continue to yield positive outcomes.

As the third phase national chairman, I am delighted to give Dr. Otuaro my full support and backing. His leadership style, which prioritizes listening to the people and addressing their needs, is a breath of fresh air. I believe he is the right person to take the PAP program to greater heights, and I look forward to seeing more positive developments under his administration.

Dr. Otuaro’s efforts have brought the PAP program into the limelight, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
