Sokebobou, Yokiri Communities Set for Inauguration Ceremony of New Community Leaders

The leadership and people of Sokebobou and Yokiri Federated Communities have announced plans for their forthcoming Inauguration Ceremonyslated for 17th of January, 2026, describing the event as a important milestone that will usher in a new era of unity, development and purposeful leadership.
According to a joint statement, the ceremony will bring together traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry and community stakeholders to witness the formal take-off of the new Executive Councils for the federated communities.
The Royal Father of the Day will be King Dr. Joseph Izonperebo Timiyan JP (PhD.), Torububor I, Agbonu, the Ebenanawei of Ogulagha Kingdom and Chairman of the Delta State Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum.
Serving as Chairman of the Day is High Chief Engr. Ebimobowei Kestin Pondi, MNSE, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Special Guests of Honour include Dr. Julius Pondi (PhD.), Member of the House of Representatives for Burutu Federal Constituency and Pioneer Chairman of the House Committee on the South-South Development Commission; Chief Godfrey Tare Pondi, General Manager of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited; and Hon. Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo, Member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Burutu Constituency I.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include High Chief Dr. Julius Takeme JP (PhD.), Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area; Amb. (Dr.) Shedrack Agediga, Chairman of the Delta State Scholarship and Bursary Board; Chief Adowei Binaebi; and Hon. Allen Ekenbai Ebinimi, Councillor representing Ward 19, Burutu Local Government Area.
The statement which was jointly signed by Igere Daniel, Chairman-Elect of Sokebobou Community, and Victor F. Minama, Chairman-Elect of Yokiri Community, added that the inauguration will provide a platform for renewed commitment to peace, cooperation and grassroots development within the Sokebobou and Yokiri Communities.
