Hon. Beauty Warejuowei has called on women across the state and the nation to remain hopeful, courageous, and resilient as the year 2026 unfolds with vast opportunities for growth and transformation.

In her New Year message, the member Presidential committee on Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYREP), a Delta APC leader, and business tycoon, Madam Beauty Warezuwowei, described women as the backbone of families, communities, and the economy, noting that despite the challenges faced in previous years, women have continued to rise with strength, wisdom, and determination. She urged women not to allow setbacks to define their future, stressing that every challenge carries lessons that prepare them for greater heights.

According to her, 2026 presents immense prospects with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policy drive to build a safer Nigeria with a stable economy, small-scale entrepreneurship, education, and community development, and women must position themselves to seize these opportunities. She encouraged women to invest in self-development, support one another, and boldly take up spaces where their voices and contributions can drive positive change.

Hon. Warejuowei wishes Delta women a fulfilling and progressive New Year, calling for unity, faith, and renewed commitment to building stronger families and a total support for Governor Oborevwori, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, and President Tinubu, reaffirming her belief that when women unite behind anything, society thrive, communities flourish and the future becomes brighter for all.

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has called on stakeholders and residents of the South-South geopolitical zone to prepare for what it described as “a new dawn of peace and development” as the Niger Delta enters the year 2026.

In a New Year press statement signed by its National Chairman, Godknows Boladei Igali, PANDEF said it was joining “the entire people of the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria in giving thanks to God Almighty for the grace of a New Year.”

The group extended “warm felicitations to our political leaders, traditional rulers, faith leaders, development agencies, especially the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and South-South Development Commission (SSDC); and indeed all our pecommending their “steadfast faith in God and remarkable resilience throughout 2025, which has brought our region this far.”

According to PANDEF, the New Year represents “another significant epoch for the Niger Delta, one that presents renewed opportunities to consolidate and sustain our leading role as a zone of transformative progress within the country.” The forum stressed that such progress must translate into “the improved welfare of our people, particularly in healthcare and education, the empowerment of women and youth, accelerated physical and infrastructural development, and the long-overdue remediation of our environment after decades of oil pollution.”

Reflecting on security and stability across the region, PANDEF noted that “from Akwa Ibom to Bayelsa, and through Cross River, Delta, and Edo States, we have witnessed relative peace and improved security.” It added that “even the unfortunate days of the state of emergency in Rivers State have, thankfully, become a thing of the past, with the state now recording unprecedented progress.”

The forum, however, cautioned that sustaining these gains requires collective commitment, stating that “it is therefore imperative that we all redouble our efforts to sustain this peace and collectively address, in a timely manner, any threats or breaches that may arise.” PANDEF expressed confidence that “greater social and economic advancement will follow through closer collaboration in building and sustaining peace and security.”

Emphasising faith as a guiding principle, the statement said, “as we move forward, let our faith in God Almighty, whose benevolence has placed our region as a leading contributor to the national economy for decades, remain resolute and strengthened.” PANDEF further drew inspiration from Scripture, quoting Psalms 60:12: “With God we shall gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies.”

The statement concluded with goodwill messages, wishing “a Happy New Year to the dear people of the Niger Delta and to Nigeria at large.”
