IYC LEADERS OF THOUGHT APPLAUDS DR. IFEANYI OKOWA, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE FOR APPROVING DELTA STATE POLYTECHNIC, BURUTU.
A pan-Ijaw group known as IYC Leaders of thought has rated the Governor of Delta State, Sen. (Dr.), Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for upgrading the Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu, to a Polytechnic.
This was contained in a Statement signed and made available to IduwiniVoice News today in Burutu, by the Chairman of the group, Comrd. Jackson Agbor.
The group expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for upgrading the previously Delta State School of Marine Technology to the status of a polytechnic, which is now officially known as DELTA STATE POLYTECHNIC, BURUTU.
The group which is ably led by Comrade. Jackson Agbor, reaffirmed the strategic importance of the institution and commended the Governor for the giant stride which culminated at the successful upgrade of the Delta State school of marine technology into Delta State polytechnic Burutu and at the same time sending the bill to the state House of Assembly to be passed into law without delay.
“The IYC Leaders of Thought Celebrate this monumental achievement on behalf of the BURUTU people as well as thanking the delta state government for giving the institution a face lift which avails the riverine dwellers in the state an opportunity to benefit and have easy access to education.
“The IYC LEADERS OF also wish to congratulate the indigenous people of Burutu and the entire Ijaw communities for this wonderful achievement.” Agbor posited.

The revered monarch of the kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Pere Joel Ekeni Ibani JP, Ogiobo-IX, Grand Pere of Iduwini Kingdom, personally performed the conferment rites before an enthusiastic gathering of chiefs, cultural custodians, community leaders, and indigenes.
The event, marked by colourful traditional displays and deep cultural symbolism, underscores the kingdom’s commitment to recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves in service, leadership, and loyalty to the Iduwini heritage.
In his remarks, Chief (Capt.) Alfred Obonika Waratimi expressed profound gratitude for the honour, dedicating it to the people of Iduwini Kingdom and the broader Ijaw Nation. He invoked blessings upon the monarch and the kingdom, praying:
