Mark Angel Reflects on 2024: ‘I Lost Everything to Forex, Faced Debts, and Found Faith’

By Divine Perezide
Nigerian skitmaker, Mark Angel, recently opened up about his turbulent journey through 2024, a year he described as the most challenging of his life. In a heartfelt post, he revealed that he lost over $3.7 million after placing his trust in the wrong people within the forex market. This devastating loss led to mounting debts and the forfeiture of his properties to loan sharks.
Mark Angel recounted that the year began like any other but soon spiraled into a period of profound hardship. “The year 2024 began like every other year, but I had no idea how much it would test me, how much it would break me, yet ultimately reshape me,” he wrote. “I trusted the wrong hands in forex and lost all my money. Nobody knew except my family and closest circle.”
He disclosed that the financial blow felt overwhelming. “The weight of the loss, over $3.7 million, was suffocating. I was drowning in debts, and one by one, I watched all my properties slip into the hands of loan sharks. It felt like my world was crumbling, and in my darkest moments, I considered ending it all.”
Despite the dire situation, he expressed deep gratitude for the people who stood by him during his struggles. “But God… If not for His mercies, I wouldn’t be here writing this. He sent angels into my life when I needed them the most,” he shared. Among those who supported him were his close friend Blessing, his pastor and his wife, his daughters Victoria and Mila, and even his ex-wife Mandy, whose act of kindness left a lasting impression on him.
Mark Angel credited his son, Schoolboy, for showing resilience beyond his years and acknowledged Bright, his social media assistant, for being a pillar of support during moments of vulnerability.
However, his challenges did not end with his financial loss. While undergoing therapy to cope with the trauma, he faced another setback—a scandal that rocked his career and caused him to question the loyalty of those around him. “It was in that storm that God began to uncover the truth,” he explained. “He exposed the fake friends, the pretenders, and the ones who had been silently sabotaging my peace and my circle. It was painful, but it was necessary.”
Despite the hurdles, Mark Angel saw 2024 as a transformative period. “Through the ashes, He taught me resilience, faith, and the true meaning of grace,” he said, acknowledging his renewed sense of purpose and spiritual awakening.
Concluding his message, he expressed appreciation to those who offered support during his lowest moments. “To everyone who stood with me, prayed for me, and held me up when I had no strength left, thank you,” he wrote. “Here’s to God’s unwavering faithfulness. If 2024 taught me anything, it’s that even in the darkest valleys, His light never stops shining.”
Mark Angel’s reflections serve as a powerful reminder of perseverance and faith in the face of adversity.
