By Divine Perezide
In an open letter published on December 24, 2024, in Vanguard newspaper, Prince Presley Iyalagha, Managing Director of Preslyn Resources Limited and Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters to Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his remarkable strides in infrastructural development.
Prince Iyalagha highlighted the “transformative vision” of Governor Oborevwori’s administration, emphasizing its impact on fostering sustainable growth and improving the quality of life in Delta State, particularly in Warri City and its environs.
“The progress we have observed is not merely a series of construction projects; it represents a transformative vision aimed at fostering sustainable growth and enhancing the quality of life for all Deltans,” Iyalagha wrote.
See details of the attached letter:

He lauded the administration’s commitment to infrastructure, noting that projects such as roads, bridges, and recreational spaces “lay the foundation for economic development and social interaction.”
The Prince of Iduwini Kingdom, Delta State specifically commended the state’s partnership with reputable construction firms, including Julius Berger PLC, in executing major infrastructure projects, citing the ongoing work on bridges and roads in Warri, particularly at Enerhen Junction and PTI Junction, as evidence of the administration’s resolve to improve connectivity and transportation.
“During my visit to Warri in July, I was pleasantly surprised by the pace of work at Enerhen Junction and PTI Junction, with many internal roads in Warri nearing completion,” he stated. “These bridges and roads, once finalized, will undoubtedly restore Warri’s status as the Oil City of Nigeria, where nightlife and business thrive.”
The letter also underscored plans to renovate the Warri Township Stadium, describing it as a “noteworthy endeavor” that would enhance local sports culture, stimulate social interactions, and provide economic opportunities.
“This venue holds great significance within the Oil City, and revitalizing it will not only enhance our local sports culture but also stimulate social interactions and celebrations,” Iyalagha noted.
Calling for unity and collective support among Deltans, Prince Iyalagha urged residents to rally behind Governor Oborevwori’s initiatives and collaborate with the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to attract further resources and investment.
“I encourage all Deltans, particularly those in the political sphere, to support you, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, in collaborating with the federal government to strive for a better Delta State,” he wrote.
However, with warm wishes, Prince Iyalagha extended his gratitude for what he termed “the Governor’s dedication and commitment to enhancing our beloved state” while wished all Deltans a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
It is noteworthy that, while this letter reflects the growing appreciation of Deltans for Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and the transformative projects shaping Delta State’s future, concerned voices especially from the riverine parts of the state have intensified calls for His Excellency to complete Ayakoromor bridge and other critical infrastructural projects in the Riverine Areas of the state.

IduwiniVoice Commends Okaba’s Leadership, Highlights Electronic Voting Success in INC Polls
By Favour Bibaikefie
YENAGOA — IduwiniVoice Media Limited has lauded the leadership of Prof. Benjamin Okaba, outgoing President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), for overseeing what it described as a historic and credible electoral process, with particular emphasis on the successful deployment of a fully electronic voting system.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Chief Executive Officer/Editor-in-Chief, Prince (Dr.) Peretengboro Klintin Bibaikefie, the media organisation commended Okaba for demonstrating “leadership, intellectual capacity and sagacity” throughout his tenure, noting that his insistence on conducting elections ahead of the constitutional deadline preserved the integrity of the council.
The statement stressed that the decision to avoid any form of interim or ad-hoc leadership structure “saved the Ijaw nation from a familiar pitfall that could have weakened its governance framework,” describing the move as a bold commitment to democratic principles.
Of particular significance, the organisation highlighted the introduction and execution of a fully electronic voting system, which it said marked a turning point in the conduct of internal elections within the Ijaw nation.
According to IduwiniVoice, Okaba’s “provision of necessary resources for the deployment of a totally electronic voting system is astutely exemplary,” adding that the process ensured transparency, efficiency, and credibility throughout the April 13, 2026 elections.
The media outfit further noted that the seamless conduct of the poll, characterized by real-time voting and result transmission, has set a new benchmark not only for socio-cultural organisations but also for national electoral bodies. It described the innovation as “a credible lesson” for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), urging that such technology be scaled up and replicated in Nigeria’s general elections to enhance public trust and electoral integrity.
IduwiniVoice also used the opportunity to commend the peaceful transition process initiated by the outgoing leadership, noting that Okaba’s readiness to hand over power to a successor reflects a rare commitment to democratic values in a region where leadership continuity is often contested.
The statement added that, “in a world where privileged individuals often cling to power, Prof. Okaba has once again demonstrated that greed, selfishness, and sit-tight tendencies are not reflective of the true character of an Ijaw son.”
As the INC prepares for a new phase under incoming leadership, the organisation wished the outgoing president a smooth transition and success in his future endeavours, applauding his “true patriotism and unwavering service to the Ijaw nation.”
The April 13 election, widely regarded as one of the most technologically driven in the history of the INC, has continued to attract commendation from stakeholders across the Niger Delta, with observers citing the electronic voting model as a pathway for broader electoral reforms in Nigeria.
