Some CBN, NPA Employees Earn More Salaries Than Buhari – RMAFC

The chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Muhammed Shehu, has said public servants working in some private organisations and even public parastatals earn higher monthly salaries than President Muhammadu Buhari.
This, Mr. Shehu disclosed whilst fielding questions Thursday morning during an interview on the Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
Amongst the those he alluded to be earning more than Mr. President include but, not limited to staffers of government agencies such as the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to mention but a few.
He puts the revenue generated by agencies like the Nigerian Ports Authority at over N172 billion by the end of the second quarter of 2022, adding that NPA remains one of the highest earning agencies in Nigeria, especially in the 2022 fiscal year, yet to date.
Mr. Shehu said Mr. President’s consolidated earnings stand at about one million three hundred thousand naira, including built-in allowances. He said this figure was seen as big enough as of 2008 when it was last reviewed, but not anymore as the economic realities of the day negate these earnings as adequate.
In his words, “The salary of Mr. President is not up to N1,300,000 a month…the allowances of the President are factored into that salary. In 2008, that was considered a lot of money but now, there are people in the private sector and public sector that earn twice, three times, or four times.
He further argued that nobody should earn above the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. However, this is not the case.
“No public servant should earn salaries bigger than Mr. President. but we do have public servants that earn bigger than Mr. President: NCC, NIMASA, NPA, Central Bank.”
He said, “Nigeria has about 17 different salary categories across several agencies”. He, therefore, proposed the regularization of the salary schemes for the civil service, as this, in his opinion is not good enough.

Former leader of Burutu Legislative House, Rt. Hon. Joseph Alubeze, has expressed heartfelt birthday felicitations to the his former boss and leader, Rt. Hon. Good News: Presidential Amnesty Office Commences Second Phase of Laptop Distribution to Scholarship Delegates

Abuja – The Otuaro-led Presidential Amnesty Office, popularly known as PAP, has commenced the second phase of laptop distribution to its scholarship beneficiaries across Nigerian Universities for the 2024/2025 academic year.
According to a statement signed by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, the initiative is part of efforts to enhance learning and research amongst students under the programme.
The exercise, which began following the directive of the Administrator, Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro, makes a continuation of the first phase carried out between April and May 2025, during which over 663 final-year scholarship beneficiaries received laptops.
Dr Otuaro explained that the decision to promoting academic excellence and research productivity. He noted that the gesture also fulfills a promise he made to students during his tour of partner Universities in 2024.
“The laptops are intended to aid the beneficiaries in their studies and research activities” Otuaro state, urging the students to use the devices responsibility and to justify the Federal Governmtent’s modest investment in their education.
He also advised the beneficiaries to remain focus on their academic pursuit and avoid behaviours that could undermine their future prospects.
Reaffirming his administration’s objectives, Dr. Otuaro said the PAP will continue to achieve academic succes, contributing to the socio-economic advancement of the Niger Delta region.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support for the programme, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to bridging the human capital development gaping the region.
Dr. Otuaro further urged the youths and people of the region to reciprocate the President’s gesture by supporting his administration’s policies and programmes.
He reaffirmed the PAP’s dedication to consolidating on its achievements in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
