Ogulagha Kingdom Agog As Pere Timiyan Commences 20th Coronation Anniversary Celebrations

The atmosphere in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta of Delta State, was filled with excitement on Monday, November 10th, 2025, as the Kingdom commenced the celebration of the 20th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) Dr. King Joseph Ijawperebo Timiyan, JP, (Ph.D.), Torububor-1, Agbonu, the Ebenanawei of Ogulagha Kingdom.
The three day-long celebration, which will Climaxes on Wednesday, November 12, at the King’s Palace in Obotobo-1 Community, kicked off with a royal tour by the revered monarch to various communities under his domain, including Ogulagha, Sokebolou, and Obotobo-1&2.
Over the past two decades, Pere Timiyan’s reign has has been defined by peace, unity, and development. His leadership has fostered cultural preservation, infrastructural growth, and advocacy for peace across Ijaw land and the larger Niger Delta region – earning him respect and admiration both within and beyond his kingdom.
According to the celebration itinerary, the festivities will continue with a Ogulagha Kingdom Prayer Day on Thursday, November 11, to be followed by a novelty football match between Ogulagha Kingdom and Operemor Kingdom. The day’s events will also feature thrilling musical performances led by Mrs. Gesiere Ebizimor Nicholas, daughter of the late legendary Ijaw music sage, King (Dr.) Robert Ebizimor.
The grand finale on Wednesday, November 12, promises to be a cultural spectacle, showcasing traditional displays, historical exhibitions, and chieftaincy conferments. Music will be provided by celebrated Ijaw performers, including Alfred Izon-ebi and his Because of Love Band, amongst others.
Prominent personalities present at the flag-off of the royal tour included Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the South-South Development Commission: High Chief Boro Opudu: and High Chief Tunde Smooth, the Bolouwei of Niger Delta, who serves as the Father of the Day for the Coronation Anniversary.
As the celebration progresses, the Kingdom is expected to welcome more dignitaries and illustrious sons and daughters of Ogulagha Kingdom, Chief among whom are Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and other top government officials.
The 20th Coronation Anniversary of Pere Timiyan stands as a testament to two decades of visionary leadership, cultural pride, and the enduring unity of the Ogulagha people.

The Revered Ogulagha Monarch Commiserates With Guwor Family Over Demise Of Matriarch

Ogulagha, Delta State – A deep sense of empathy and comradery rented the air on October 19, 2025, as Hos Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) King Joseph I. Timiyan (JP), Ph.D, Torububou I, Agbonu, the Ebenanawei of Ogulagha Kingdom, paid a condolence visit to the Guwor family over the painful death of their beloved matriarch, Mrs. Monica Guwor, who passed away on August 5, 2025, after a brief illness, GbaramatuVoice reported.

The monarch, known for his fatherly compassion and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people, led a high-powered Royal delegation to the family residence High Chief Council Guwor, the Olotu of Ogulagha Kingdom, off Westend Hospital Road, Bendel Estate, Delta State. The visit was a demonstration of solidarity empathy and unity within the royal family and the entire Ogulagha Kingdom.


Upon arrival, His Royal Majesty was warmly received by members of the Guwor family and dignitaries who gathered to honour the memory of the departed. The monarch extended heartfelt condolences to High Chief Council Guwor and the entire family to take solace in the exemplary life, virtues, and enduring legacy of the late Mrs. Monica Guwor.


In a symbolic gesture of condolence, High Chief Linus Yeinanagbegha signed the condolence register on behalf of the royal father, reaffirming the monarch’s sympathy and prayers for the bereaved family. His Majesty described Mrs. Guwor, as a woman of peace, kindness, and strength, whose contributions to her family and community would be fondly remembered.


Present during the condolence visit were notable personalities and close associates of the Guwor familiar, including Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Julus Pondi, House Commity Chairman on South-South Development Commission; Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly; Amb. Dr. Shedrack Agediga, Chairman of the Delta State Scholarship and Bursary Board; Elder Amos Okoro, Chairman of the Guwor family; Hon. Mark Guwor; Capt. Joseph Ziko; and Amb. Tom Willy, amongst others.
The atmosphere at the residence reflected both grief and gratitude – grief over the loss of a dearly loved wife, mother, and community woman, and gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from the paramount ruler, his entourage, friends, and well-wishers.
As preparations for the final rites of Mama Guwor continue, the Guwor family expressed appreciation to the throne and Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom for his comforting presence and royal compassion during their moment of sorrow, describing it as a source of both strength and of unity for the family and the wider Ogulagha Kingdom.

Just In: Kpaidia Congratulates Double Chief and Chief Mrs. Boro Opudu Over Their Dual Chieftaincy Conferments

Warri – Niger Delta youth leader, Dennis Kpaidia, has congratulated Double Chief Boro Opudu, Chairman of the Delta State Waterways and Land Security Committee, and his wife, Chief Mrs. Boro Opudu, on their recent Chieftaincy conferments.
Chief Opudu was bestowed with the prestigious title of “Olotu (War Chest) of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom” during the activities marking Day One of the ongoing Seven-day 10th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Couple Mackson Oromoni (JP), Monbene-III, Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom. His wife, Chief Mrs. Opudu, also received a Chieftaincy title in recognition of her contributions to society.
In a personally signed statement, Mr. Kpaidia described the honours as a “well-deserved achievement,” acknowledging the couple’s years of selfless service to the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, the Ijaw nation, Delta state, and the Niger Delta at large.
He particularly lauded Chief Opudu’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment that has enabled commerce and development to thrive across Delta State.
Kapidia extended warm felicitations to the couple and wished them continued wisdom, strength, and greater accomplishments in their service to humanity.

Kpaidia Hails Otuaro on Birthday, Describe Him as A Worthy Representative of President Tinubu

Odimodi – Mr. Dennis Kpaidia, a prominent youth leader, has extended warm felicitations to his boss, Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro (PhD), Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
In a personally signed statement, Kpaidia described Dr. Otuaro as “an astute leader with a bold, clear, and measurable vision for the peace and development of the Niger Delta.” He praised the PAP boss for his remarkable contributions to national peacebuilding and empowerment initiatives.
According to Kpaidia, Dr. Otuaro has represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration effectively, ensuring the objectives of the Amnesty Programme continue to deliver dividends to ex-agitators and communities across the region.
Kpaidia further stated that in recognition of his leadership qualities and developmental strides, Dr. Otuaro “deserves a better appointment at the end of this national assignment.”
