Final Journey Begins: Jonathan, Obi, Diri Pays Last Respect to Chief Edwin Clark

Yenagoa – Former President Goodluck Jonathan; Gov. Douye Diri of Beyelsa State; 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi were among dignitaries who graced the commendation service for late elder statesman and Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The body of the former Federal Commissioner arrived at the Yenagoa International Airport from Abuja at about 10:AM on Monday 12th May, 2025 morning and was onwardly movement to Ijaw House along Sani Abacha Expressway for the commendation service with numerous dignitaries in attendance.

Thereafter, the remains were moved to Warri at about 5:PM for a brief stopover at his residence in Swamp Road for Service of Songs after which the body was conveyed to his country home Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA of Delta State for a social night wake-keep..

The final interment is scheduled for Tuesday 13th May, 2025 at Kiagbodo Town, Burutu LGA, Delta State.

Apart from Jonathan, his wife, Peter and Diri, other dignitaries who attended the commendation service included: PANDEF Chairman, Amb. Godknows Boladei lgali; leadership of the Ijaw National Congress led by Prof. Benjamin Okaba and other notable Ijaw leaders.

Musical performances by the Ijaw music industry include: Barrister Smooth, Alfred lzonebi Jking, Gen. Best May, Hero Beremi among others.
