Sheriff Mulade Receives Ernest Ikoli Award, Hails IPF’s Advocacy for Ijaw Progress

Prominent Niger Delta activist and environmental advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has been honored with the prestigious Ernest Ikoli Personality Award. Mulade, who serves as the National Coordinator of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), expressed appreciation to the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) for its dedication to advancing the interests of the Ijaw people and the broader Niger Delta region.
The award presentation occurred during a courtesy visit by an IPF delegation, led by its President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, to the CEPEJ headquarters in Osubi, Delta State. The delegation commended Mulade for his significant contributions to the fight for environmental, economic, and political equity for the Ijaw nation.
Ozobo described the award as a recognition of Mulade’s unwavering commitment to justice for the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta. He hailed Mulade as a role model, known for his resilience and determination, urging him to continue championing the cause of Ijaw emancipation.
In his acceptance speech, Mulade expressed heartfelt gratitude to the IPF, describing their acknowledgment as a recognition of his “modest efforts” in advocating for his community’s rights. He dedicated the award to God and the late Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro, whom he acknowledged as a pioneer in the struggle for justice and equality for the Ijaw people.
The award presentation followed the maiden Ijaw Media Conference, held on December 11, 2024, at the Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The conference focused on creating awareness and advocating for justice in economic, environmental, and political spheres for the Ijaw people within the Nigerian state.

As the third phase national chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), I, General Godstime Ogidigba, would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the PAP administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro. The launch of the second phase of laptop distribution to amnesty scholarship beneficiaries is a testament to his dedication to enhancing the learning and research capabilities of our students. I am proud of the strides his administration has taken to prioritize the welfare of our students, marking a significant shift in the narrative of the PAP program.
Under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, the PAP has witnessed a positive transformation. For the first time in almost a decade, we are seeing tangible results that reflect the program’s true potential. His commitment to the welfare of our students is commendable, and I am confident that his administration will continue to yield positive outcomes.
As the third phase national chairman, I am delighted to give Dr. Otuaro my full support and backing. His leadership style, which prioritizes listening to the people and addressing their needs, is a breath of fresh air. I believe he is the right person to take the PAP program to greater heights, and I look forward to seeing more positive developments under his administration.
Dr. Otuaro’s efforts have brought the PAP program into the limelight, and for that, I am eternally grateful. His dedication to improving the lives of our students is a testament to his character, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make a lasting impact.
