Sheriff Commends LOC Members of Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup

Warri: The National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has praised the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for their unwavering efforts in ensuring the success of the Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup.
Speaking at the Africa 4 Peace Office in Ugolo, near Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area, Comrade Sheriff, a prominent advocate for peace and environmental justice from Delta State, highlighted the dedication and commitment of the LOC. He remarked, “Without your hard work and steadfastness, we would not have achieved this remarkable milestone.”
Acknowledging the inevitable challenges that accompany such events, he noted, “Every competition comes with its hurdles, but we have gained valuable lessons to improve the next edition, set to kick off on November 16, 2026.”
The global peace ambassador expressed heartfelt gratitude to LOC members, particularly Hon. Kenneth Nwaomucha, former Chairman of the Delta State Football Association (DFA), for his sacrifices and contributions to the tournament’s success.
Comrade Sheriff also extended his appreciation to former Super Eagles players Peter Rufai, Edema Fuludu, and Sam Sodje, as well as partners, participating teams, and various ethnic groups for their support in promoting cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence in Delta State.
He further recognized the significant role of traditional rulers in fostering harmony, naming His Royal Majesty, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council; His Royal Majesty, the Paramount Ruler of Ogulagha Kingdom and Chairman of the Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum; His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Warri; His Royal Majesty, the Odion-Ologbo of Oleh Kingdom and Chairman of the Isoko Traditional Rulers Forum; and His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe-Agadagba, also known as the Monarch of the Niger Delta and the Pere of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Sheriff, who is also the Ibe-Sorimowei of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and sponsor of the Delta State Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup, called for the sustenance of peace and unity to create a conducive environment for Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, to fulfill his promises for the benefit of all Deltans.

As the third phase national chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), I, General Godstime Ogidigba, would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the PAP administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro. The launch of the second phase of laptop distribution to amnesty scholarship beneficiaries is a testament to his dedication to enhancing the learning and research capabilities of our students. I am proud of the strides his administration has taken to prioritize the welfare of our students, marking a significant shift in the narrative of the PAP program.
Under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, the PAP has witnessed a positive transformation. For the first time in almost a decade, we are seeing tangible results that reflect the program’s true potential. His commitment to the welfare of our students is commendable, and I am confident that his administration will continue to yield positive outcomes.
As the third phase national chairman, I am delighted to give Dr. Otuaro my full support and backing. His leadership style, which prioritizes listening to the people and addressing their needs, is a breath of fresh air. I believe he is the right person to take the PAP program to greater heights, and I look forward to seeing more positive developments under his administration.
Dr. Otuaro’s efforts have brought the PAP program into the limelight, and for that, I am eternally grateful. His dedication to improving the lives of our students is a testament to his character, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make a lasting impact. I wish him all the best in his endeavors and assure him of my unwavering support.
