Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Football Tournament Enters Second Round

The Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Football Tournament is gaining momentum as the competition advances to its second round, showcasing ethnic diversity through sports.

Matches for the next stage are set for today, November 25, with Team Ika taking on Team Isoko at the Obiaruku Township Stadium. Simultaneously, Team Ijaw will go head-to-head with Team Itsekiri at Ogbe Primary School, starting at 2:00 PM.

In the Ika zone, Agbor United FC has secured a spot to compete against Winsome FC from the Isoko zone. Meanwhile, Patani Strikers, the Ijaw zone champions, will face Ogbomaru FC, the victors from the Itsekiri zone.

Chief Ken Nwoamucha, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, commended the teams for their dedication and cooperation, ensuring a seamless tournament. He emphasized that the venues were carefully chosen to maintain fairness and offer quality conditions for all matches.

The tournament schedule involves games every two days, with Obiaruku Township hosting teams from Ika, Isoko, and Ndokwa, while Ogbe Primary School in Effurun will serve as the venue for matches involving Team Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo.

This competition continues to serve as a unifying platform, promoting peace and understanding through football.

The launch of the second phase of laptop distribution to amnesty scholarship beneficiaries is a testament to his dedication to enhancing the learning and research capabilities of our students. I am proud of the strides his administration has taken to prioritize the welfare of our students, marking a significant shift in the narrative of the PAP program.

Under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, the PAP has witnessed a positive transformation. For the first time in almost a decade, we are seeing tangible results that reflect the program’s true potential. His commitment to the welfare of our students is commendable, and I am confident that his administration will continue to yield positive outcomes.

As the third phase national chairman, I am delighted to give Dr. Otuaro my full support and backing. His leadership style, which prioritizes listening to the people and addressing their needs, is a breath of fresh air. I believe he is the right person to take the PAP program to greater heights, and I look forward to seeing more positive developments under his administration.
