SEC Meeting: Delta Govt. Greenlights Rehabilitation of Ogulagha/Okuntu/Odimodi Roads, Others

The Delta State Government has approved the construction of a College of Medical Sciences at the Delta State University of Science and Technology (DSUST) in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area.
This decision was made during the State Executive Council meeting, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and announced by State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza.
Briefing journalists in Asaba, the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, said the approval was part of the decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at Government House, Asaba.
Osuoza said Exco also approved the payment of compensation for land acquired by the state government for the establishment of the DSUST, Orerokpe campus.
He said: “Exco today approved the construction of internal roads at the Headquarters of the 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ibusa, in Oshimili North Local Government Area, construction of Aziken Avenue, DDPA Low Cost Housing Estate, Boji-Boji, Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area.
“Exco approved the construction of Utagba-Uno/Ndemili Road phase 1, and Eweshi – Utagba-Uno Road, both in Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
“We also approved the construction of the main access road to the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun; construction of Sokoh Estate Road and Okito Street, Off Airport Road, Effurun, in Uwvie Local Government Area; the construction of internal roads in Kiagbodo phase 1, and the rehabilitation of Odimodi/Okonto/Ogulaha Road, both in Burutu Local Government Area.”
“Also approved are the construction of Odoziobodo/Aninta Street, off Ezenei Avenue, Oshimili South LGA, rehabilitation of Ekakpamre/Ekrokpe/Usiefrun and Orhuwhorun Road in Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas, and the construction of Bezi Road, off College Road in Aladja in Udu Local Government Area.
“Others include construction of Uduophori Secondary Commercial School Road in Patani Local Government Area, construction of Ofuegbe Street, Amai in Ukwuani Local Government Area; construction of Oloma/Eyewuoma internal roads at Koko beach and the construction of Ogbogudu community road in Egbema, Warri North Local Government Area.”
He added; “Exco also approved the appointment of His Royal Majesty, Prince Samuel Akpomieme Fuludu, as the Pere of Ngbelebri-Mein Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area.
“Exco also approved the appointment of His Royal Majesty, Simon Wajutome Odhomo, Igbogidi I, as the new Odiologbo of Irri Kingdom, Isoko South Local Government Area,” the Information Commissioner added.
The Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said Governor Oborevwori approved approved projects across the three Senatorial Districts, proving inclusivity and stressing that 11 new road projects were approved for his ministry.
On the failed portions of Benin-Asaba highway at Ezenei Junction Asaba, Aniagwu said the governor was interested in the quick repair of the road due to the hardship the failure had on commuters.
The Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, in his remarks stated that work was ongoing on already approved road constructions across the state, adding that the new approvals were in consonance with Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda for meaningful and sustainable development across the state.

Miss Favour graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Banking and Finance, earning an impressive Second-Class Upper (2.1) classification. Going a step further in her academic pursuit, she has also obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Banking and Finance from the same institution.
This has received warm reactions from family and friends with many congratulating the young lad. I a message filled with joy, High Chief Gbegha described his daughter’s achievements as a testament to hard work, discipline, and divine grace. He noted that her academic excellence brings honour not only to their family but also to the wider community.

Former leader of Burutu Legislative House, Rt. Hon. Joseph Alubeze, has expressed heartfelt birthday felicitations to the his former boss and leader, Rt. Hon. Julius Gbabozor Pondi, Member Representing Burutu Federal Constituency and the Chairman, House Committee on the South-South Development Commission.
In his congratulatory message, Alubeze described Pondi as an astute leader whose antecedent smarcks of nothing but people-oriented service and dedication that continue to inspire many within and beyond the Constituency.

Good News: Presidential Amnesty Office Commences Second Phase of Laptop Distribution to Scholarship Delegates

Abuja – The Otuaro-led Presidential Amnesty Office, popularly known as PAP, has commenced the second phase of laptop distribution to its scholarship beneficiaries across Nigerian Universities for the 2024/2025 academic year.
According to a statement signed by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, the initiative is part of efforts to enhance learning and research amongst students under the programme.
The exercise, which began following the directive of the Administrator, Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro, makes a continuation of the first phase carried out between April and May 2025, during which over 663 final-year scholarship beneficiaries received laptops.
Dr Otuaro explained that the decision to promoting academic excellence and research productivity. He noted that the gesture also fulfills a promise he made to students during his tour of partner Universities in 2024.
“The laptops are intended to aid the beneficiaries in their studies and research activities” Otuaro state, urging the students to use the devices responsibility and to justify the Federal Governmtent’s modest investment in their education.
He also advised the beneficiaries to remain focus on their academic pursuit and avoid behaviours that could undermine their future prospects.
Reaffirming his administration’s objectives, Dr. Otuaro said the PAP will continue to achieve academic succes, contributing to the socio-economic advancement of the Niger Delta region.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support for the programme, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to bridging the human capital development gaping the region.
Dr. Otuaro further urged the youths and people of the region to reciprocate the President’s gesture by supporting his administration’s policies and programmes.
He reaffirmed the PAP’s dedication to consolidating on its achievements in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
