Ijaw National Congress Supports Governor Sim Fubara, Cautions Against Political Sabotage

During a visit by Wike’s political allies to the Ijaw National Congress (INC) yesterday in Yenagoa, leaders emphasized the Ijaw nation’s unwavering support for Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.

INC Chairman Prof. Benjamin Okaba urged Ijaw politicians to prioritize the interests of Rivers State and the Ijaw people over personal political allegiances. Addressing Sen. George Sekibo, Boma Iyaye, and others, Okaba stated, “You can be loyal to Wike, but don’t let your loyalty sabotage the interest of Ijaw people.”

IduwiniVoice Newspaper can report that this call for caution aims to ensure the collective progress and welfare of the Ijaw nation.

The honourable member representing Burutu Constituency 1, in the Delta State House of Assembly,Hon.Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo has released the programme of events for the burial ceremony of his late mother, Mrs Esther Genegenkoro Ebitonmo (nee Kemefa.

The funeral arrangement is scheduled to hold as follows:

Thursday, 18th of April,2024
4.00pm: Service of Songs at her residence at NBTC road, behind BEDC High Tension Ovwian, Udu LGA, Delta State.

Saturday, 20th of April,2024
12.00am: Church Service at New Jerusalem City Gbekebor, Burutu LGA, Delta State.

2.00pm: Interment & Entertainment of guests.

6.00pm : till dawn cultural entertainment.

CONGRATULATIONS TO COMR. PETER ASABA:THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF OKIBOU ZION IN KOU DELTA.

Mr Peter Asaba has been very promising as an indigene of Okibou Zion (aka Labopere Zion) in Kou Delta. He is a man of admirable qualities, very much concerned about the spiritual and material progress and prosperity of the community. Hence when it was time to install a new Chairman of the faith community, he was chosen and presented to the founder of the community, Boanerge Okibou Okosuwei as the one whose head is fit to wear the crown of chairmanship. The revered founder glad-heartedly welcomed the choice of Mr Peter and blessed him.

On the 25th day of January,2024, Okibou community (aka Labopere Zion) in Burutu LGA, Delta State ‘elected’ Peter Asaba as the new Community Chairman with his Executives. The event which took place in the Community’s Church had in attendance the outgoing executive members including Comr. Matthew L Wurus , Chairman; Comr G.P Asaba, Vice Chairman; financial secretary, Daniel Amingo, and treasurer; Blessing Okibou, beach master 1, and Stanley Ogolobinabo, beach master 2.

Other community leaders and concerned citizens who were present and officiated the event include : Mr Patrick Irou, Mr Amos Okosuwei, Asaba Benjamin, Labopere Okosuwei,Daniel Pudei, Chief Agbala , Ebis Government, Goddy Korus, Orlando Okoh, Raphael Okuosowei, George Ibe, Amigo Pude, Mrs Grace Alla, Shagari Idolobo, Eric Faka, Kingsley Epasu, David Epasu, Moses Okibou, Rebecca Amos, Dorcas Okibo,
Pabo John, Iselemo-ere Fred, Poweide Benjamin, Eddy Okibou, Tobouke Jemine, Apostle Torokariya, Abednego Abukawa, Kimikewari Jemine, Morrison Disi, and among others.

The event was drawn to a close with prominent elders and leaders giving counsel to the new executive members on the need to work and consult with the outgoing executives on how to run the affairs of their various offices effectively, and the outgoing executives were also advised to cooperate with the new executives in running the affairs of the community.

The new community chairman, Comr. Peter Asaba, in his speech appreciated the community for the privilege to serve the community and pleaded with the outgoing executives to cooperate with him to make things better for the Christian community. In his response, the outgoing chairman, Comr. Matthew Wurus said it has always been his intention to hand over his position in an atmosphere of peace, and promised to work with the new community executives.

We now plead with everyone to join hands with the New Executives and move the theocratic community forward.
