Ijaw Publishers’ Forum Backs Ebi Tebela Memorial Celebration

The Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) has formally endorsed the upcoming remembrance celebration for the late Chief Ebi Tebela, a prominent figure and Olotu of the Egbema Kingdom, set for September 23, 2024.
This endorsement followed a visit from the event’s organizing committee, which included Chairman Mr. Gideon Ebipade (also known as Darling Gid), Secretary Comrade Gandi Wisdom, Public Relations Officer Mr. Atigbi Lugard, Treasurer Mr. Abioka Karina (popularly called Mc Abioka), and committee members Mr. Luis Ebi Tebela, Miss Sarah Shell, and Mr. Meshach Ojijoh. Tebela’s children were also present during the meeting.
After a private discussion held at TM Hotel in Warri, Delta State, IPF President Comrade Ozobo Austin addressed the media, stressing the significance of commemorating Tebela’s life. He underscored Tebela’s generous acts, which positively impacted countless lives, including many within the media industry.
“Ebi Tebela was a man of great selflessness, whose contributions benefited not just our community but far beyond. His legacy is worth celebrating, and we call on all Ijaw leaders and stakeholders to join us in honoring his memory,” Austin remarked.
He further emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals who do good, stating, “Rewarding and acknowledging the efforts of good people motivates them and others to continue their contributions, knowing it does not go unnoticed.”
With the IPF’s official backing, the Ebi Tebela Remembrance event is expected to attract widespread attention and participation across the Ijaw community and beyond, serving as a heartfelt tribute to a man who left a lasting impact on many lives.
During the announcement, Comrade Ozobo Austin was accompanied by his Vice President Mr. Onduku Oyinbi, Public Relations Officer Mr. Ezekiel Kagbala, Mr. Tams Okunbiri MMD, and Stephen Asaba-ase, a reporter.

Just In: Kpaidia Congratulates Double Chief and Chief Mrs. Boro Opudu Over Their Dual Chieftaincy Conferments

Warri – Niger Delta youth leader, Dennis Kpaidia, has congratulated Double Chief Boro Opudu, Chairman of the Delta State Waterways and Land Security Committee, and his wife, Chief Mrs. Boro Opudu, on their recent Chieftaincy conferments.
Chief Opudu was bestowed with the prestigious title of “Olotu (War Chest) of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom” during the activities marking Day One of the ongoing Seven-day 10th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Couple Mackson Oromoni (JP), Monbene-III, Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom. His wife, Chief Mrs. Opudu, also received a Chieftaincy title in recognition of her contributions to society.
In a personally signed statement, Mr. Kpaidia described the honours as a “well-deserved achievement,” acknowledging the couple’s years of selfless service to the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, the Ijaw nation, Delta state, and the Niger Delta at large.
He particularly lauded Chief Opudu’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment that has enabled commerce and development to thrive across Delta State.
Kapidia extended warm felicitations to the couple and wished them continued wisdom, strength, and greater accomplishments in their service to humanity.
