Ozobo Appeals for Adoption as Consensus Candidate for Burutu LGA Chairmanship.

By Divine Perezide,
As the chairmanship elections of Burutu Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State, draws closer, Comrade Ozobo Austin’s candidacy has continued to wax louder. With a strong determination to leader Burutu right, Ozobo has appealed to the Burutu leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to consider him as the consensus candidate, citing his popularity, sellability, and acceptance across not only Burutu LGA but the entire Ijaw nation.
Addressing the press in Burutu town, Ozobo reiterated his comparative advantages as the most sellable candidate, asserting that his adoption would circumvent any potential conflicts within the party and demolish any oppositions across party lines. As a Niger Delta activist, he emphasizes his commitment to the advancement and development of the Burutu people, pledging to utilize his wealth of experience to attract investments and foster meaningful progress in the LGA.
Ozobo’s appeal is not merely based on personal ambition but on his vision to steer Burutu towards a brighter future. He urges leaders with vested interests to prioritize the greater good and provide a conducive environment for the emergence of the most suitable candidate, thus averting any potential discord.
Furthermore, Ozobo emphasizes his grassroots connections, highlighting his ability to mobilize support and ensure electoral success for the PDP in the LGA general elections. He envisions a united LGA under his leadership, poised to address the needs and aspirations of the Burutu populace.
“I will invest my wealth of experience to attract meaningful development and investors to Burutu communities,” Ozobo affirms, underscoring his dedication to the welfare and progress of the region.
With his impassioned plea for adoption as the consensus candidate, Ozobo aims to reshape the narrative of Burutu, restoring its glory and making it a more habitable and prosperous LGA for all its residents.
As the chairmanship election approaches, the decision-makers within the PDP face a critical choice – to heed Ozobo’s call for unity, progress, and electoral victory, or to risk losing the general elections. The outcome of this decision could have far-reaching implications for the future of the Burutu PDP and its Burutu people.

Hon. Chief (Dr.) Julius Takeme (JP), the Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the Burutu Local Government Council Election, has successfully concluded his 4-day Ward-to-Ward campaign across the 20 Wards of the local government council.
The campaign ship of Chief Takeme and his Councilorship candidates moored at its final harbour in the course of the weekend at Ogbolubiri Ward 9; a successful campaign he dedicated to God, while urging the electorates to come out in their numbers to vote for the PDP come July 13,2024
In the words of Hon. Takeme: “for the past four days, we have been campaigning from one Ward to the other. We went through the 20 Wards in the Local Government. We started from Ogulagha/Iduwini and went through all the wards.
“We want to start by thanking God Almighty because it is only God that can make it possible. It is only him that saw us through, as we drove through all the 20 wards.
“We traveled thousands of kilometers, sometimes in very difficult terrains and not one incident recorded; not one accident. In fact, we give thanks to Almighty God.
“First, let me start with the Chairman of our Campaign Council, Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin DG; Deputy Campaign, Secretary Campaign Council and other members of the Campaign Council for their wonderful and overwhelming coordination. Indeed we are deeply grateful for the continued support. May God bless you all”.
