As the DESIEC election for new leadership across the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State draws closer by the day, numerous persons have declared their intentions for the position of Chairman in Burutu Local Government Council. However, one name stands out for his vision , passion, innovative approach and SMART action plan: Comrade Humphrey Oluku. With a focus on addressing pressing issues and propelling the Local Government Area to greater heights, Oluku’s vision for Burutu is one of progress and sustainable prosperity for all.
Here are the key pillars of Humphrey Oluku’s action plan:
1. Alternative Energy Sources for Burutu Main Town:
Recognizing the importance of energy sustainability, Oluku aims to prioritize the exploration and implementation of alternative energy sources for Burutu Main Town, the Headquarters of the Local Government Area. This initiative not only seek to harness environmentally friendly power sources but also ensures a reliable and accessible energy supply for the community and it’st adjoining communities through collaborative efforts with other stakeholders in the power sector.
2. Human Capital Development:
Investing in the people of Burutu is essential for long-term growth. Oluku’s plan includes robust programs for education, skills training, and job creation, empowering Burutu Youth, Women, and Men to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the economy of the LGA. and State.
3. Enhanced Primary Healthcare:
Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right. Oluku pledges to improve primary healthcare services by working with all relevant stakeholders to rehabilitate Burutu General Hospital, and refine Primary Healthcare Services provision policy that will provide scholarship for eleven medical students (one per ward) who upon graduation will serve in their home health centers, to make essential medical care more accessible and ensuring the well-being of all residents, especially the most vulnerable.
4. Sustainable Potable Water Schemes (SDG #6):
Clean water is vital for health, sanitation, and overall quality of life. Oluku’s commitment to sustainable potable water schemes aligns with Sustainable Development Goal #6, aiming to provide safe reliable, and affordable water sources for every household in Burutu town and beyond, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
5. Much More:
Beyond these core initiatives, Humphrey Oluku promises a comprehensive approach to governance, tackling issues such as security, internally generated revenue optimization, development, job creation, and proactive community engagement. His leadership will be marked by transparency, accountability, inclusivity and a genuine dedication to serving the people of Burutu.

Hon. Chief (Dr.) Julius Takeme (JP), the Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the Burutu Local Government Council Election, has successfully concluded his 4-day Ward-to-Ward campaign across the 20 Wards of the local government council.
The campaign ship of Chief Takeme and his Councilorship candidates moored at its final harbour in the course of the weekend at Ogbolubiri Ward 9; a successful campaign he dedicated to God, while urging the electorates to come out in their numbers to vote for the PDP come July 13,2024
In the words of Hon. Takeme: “for the past four days, we have been campaigning from one Ward to the other. We went through the 20 Wards in the Local Government. We started from Ogulagha/Iduwini and went through all the wards.
“We want to start by thanking God Almighty because it is only God that can make it possible. It is only him that saw us through, as we drove through all the 20 wards.
“We traveled thousands of kilometers, sometimes in very difficult terrains and not one incident recorded; not one accident. In fact, we give thanks to Almighty God.
“First, let me start with the Chairman of our Campaign Council, Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin DG; Deputy Campaign, Secretary Campaign Council and other members of the Campaign Council for their wonderful and overwhelming coordination. Indeed we are deeply grateful for the continued support. May God bless you all”.
Dr Takeme went on to express his appreciation to stakeholders, party faithfuls, and supporters for their unwavering support and commitment to his vision, assuring them that he will not disappoint them if elected.
