BREAKING: Oborevwori Victorious as Supreme Court Affirms Governorship Win
By Admin
In a landmark ruling today, the Supreme Court has solidified Sheriff Oborevwori’s triumph in the 2023 Delta State governorship election, dealing a blow to the aspirations of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources reveal that the apex court upheld the election victory of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, His Excellency Elder Sheriff Oborevwori. The judgment, delivered this Friday morning, stated that Omo-Agege’s appeal lacked merit, with the appellant failing to meet the burden of proof.
Oborevwori secured a resounding victory on March 18, 2023, winning in 21 local government areas across the state, in stark contrast to Omo-Agege’s performance in just four LGAs. The Supreme Court’s decision reaffirms the integrity of the electoral process and settles the contentious dispute surrounding the Delta State governorship election.

FUBARA AND SUPPORTERS CELEBRATE AFTER APEX COURT UPHELD HIS ELECTION VICTORY.

FUBARA AND SUPPORTERS CELEBRATE AFTER APEX COURT UPHELD HIS ELECTION VICTORY.
By Tobouke Jemine,
In Rivers State and across the Niger Delta, supporters and well-wishers of the Governor of Rivers State jubilate and congratulate him following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Independent Electoral Commission’s declaration of Siminalayi Fubara as the winner of the last gubernatorial in Rivers State on Thursday.
Following INEC’s declaration, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the Rivers State governorship election, Tonye Cole, alleged that Fubara did not resign from his previous position as required by law before the election and that the election itself was characterized by irregularities.
Hence, Cole sought the face of the law to ascertain his claims. But when both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal dismissed Cole’s case for lack of merit, Cole appealed to the apex court to sack Siminalayi Fubara as governor of the state.
But reading the lead judgment, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed Cole’s appeal. Unanimously, the five-man panel on Thursday held that the appellant failed to prove his allegations that there was non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the election.
Following the confirmation of his electoral victory, Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Thursday attended the 4th day of Glory Reign at Salvation Ministry in Port Harcourt, to thank God.The annual church event which began on Monday, January 22, 2024, saw the General Overseer, Pastor David Ibiyomie preach on the theme, “Vengeance for Victory”.
Fubaraubara thanked God and President Bola Tinubu for his fatherly role touching the internal crisis in the party in the State and the litigation against his election.
Fubara also extended his magnanimity and gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as his “Oga” for all his support.
The governor called on everyone to join hands with his administration make Rivers State a truly prosperous and advanced state in all ramifications.
