RT. HON. GODKNOWS ANGELE HON COMMISSIONER FOR HOUSING.

GOODWILL MESSAGE ON ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY (AFRD)15th January, 2024.

I Commemorate with the Servicemen of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their endearing sacrifices for the Nation, Nigeria.

Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration {AFRDC} is an annual event {usually 15th January of every year} in recognition of many fallen heroes who laid down their lives during the First and Second World Wars, Nigerian Civil War, Peace Support Operations across the globe and various Internal Security Operations, including ongoing fight against Terrorism, Insurgency, Banditry and Secessionism, among other threats to national security. These gallant men and women paid the supreme price in the defence of peace, unity and prosperity of our dear nation/motherland, Nigeria and the world at large.

To this light do I commemorate with the Officers, Soldiers and their Families, Friends and Loved ones as well as pray for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes. It is by their sacrifice that we still have a country, (Nigeria) we call our own, moving forward, I hereby maintain that their sacrifices will never be forgotten, hence the essence of this armed forces remembrance day celebration {AFRDC}.

I want to also use this opportunity to felicitate with many of our veterans who are still alive but regrettably sustain varying degree of injuries in the course of their service to the nation and humanity. On behalf of the Delta South Senatorial district of Delta State, I make bold to say WE LOVE YOU all for your endearing sacrifice for us; and we’ll always pray for you.

Let me also use this opportunity to call with a plea on all Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army to be more loyal to constituted authority while maintaining better collaboration and synergy with the sister services and other Security Agencies in the pursuits of Peace, Orderliness and Security of Nigeria without relenting, to allow for the consolidation of the successes recorded so far.

As a Nation, State and or individual, striving to make our Country/immediate Community a better place, conducive for us all and our incoming generation, let’s also continue to inculcate moral values that promote good conducts, tolerance with peaceful coexistence. Once Again Congratulations.
