As the DEIEC LGA Elections approaches, men from all works of life have “thrown their hats in the ring” for the top job of Local Government Chairmanship across Delta State. Burutu, being a very important political enclave is surely not in short supply of capable hands who seek to take this onerous task. One man we can not afford to ignore in this race is Comrade Humphrey E. Oluku.
In the quest for progressive leadership, Oluku E. Humphrey stands out as a beacon of hope for Burutu Local Government Area. Born in Ogulagha community on September 24, 1977, to the esteemed Oluku Ereme family, Humphrey has carved a path of academic excellence and professional achievements.
His educational journey encompasses Ekpebiwei Primary School, Ogulagha, Essi College Warri, University of Calabar, Delta State University Abraka, and currently, Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), where he has earned accolades from FSLC to a Ph.D. in Geology. With over 15 years in the upstream oil and gas sector, he stands as a seasoned geologist and environmentalist.
Certified by Cognicert UK as a compliance lead auditor and a security consultant from the Regenessys Business School India, Humphrey brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. As MD/CEO of Lottmak group of companies and a director in several organizations, his prowess extends beyond the professional realm.
A fervent social entrepreneur, Humphrey serves as the secretary of the Shedrack Agediga Foundation and holds the door-to-door secretary position in Rt. Hon Julius Gbabojor Pondi’s campaign organization.
His vision for Burutu is transformative. With an unwavering belief that everything is possible, he envisions 24-hour power supply and running pipeline portable water for Burutu town and a quarter of towns across the Local Government Area.
In the healthcare sector, Humphrey pledges to sponsor at least one medical student from each major town across the local government area. These future doctors will commit to serving in their hometowns for a minimum of five years, fostering sustainable healthcare development.
Efficient Revenue Mobilisation to sure up Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) is another area the Ogulagha-born technocrat plans be decisive. Oluku plans to properly build, renovate, and/or expand major markets across the local government area, set up technology-driven revenue collection policies, to ensure that the local government council treasury become an enviable one.
Economic empowerment also takes center stage in his plan as well. Humphrey aims to raise at least one millionaire per ward by providing resourceful youth with opportunities to learn trades and establishing them in their respective fields.
In his own words, “Would you rather have another person govern Burutu than such an intellectual with that ‘Can-Do’ spirit?” Oluku E. Humphrey’s aspirations represent a promise for positive change, a commitment to progress, and a vision for a brighter future for Burutu Local Government Council.

Hon. Chief (Dr.) Julius Takeme (JP), the Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the Burutu Local Government Council Election, has successfully concluded his 4-day Ward-to-Ward campaign across the 20 Wards of the local government council.
The campaign ship of Chief Takeme and his Councilorship candidates moored at its final harbour in the course of the weekend at Ogbolubiri Ward 9; a successful campaign he dedicated to God, while urging the electorates to come out in their numbers to vote for the PDP come July 13,2024
In the words of Hon. Takeme: “for the past four days, we have been campaigning from one Ward to the other. We went through the 20 Wards in the Local Government. We started from Ogulagha/Iduwini and went through all the wards.
“We want to start by thanking God Almighty because it is only God that can make it possible. It is only him that saw us through, as we drove through all the 20 wards.
“We traveled thousands of kilometers, sometimes in very difficult terrains and not one incident recorded; not one accident. In fact, we give thanks to Almighty God.
“First, let me start with the Chairman of our Campaign Council, Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin DG; Deputy Campaign, Secretary Campaign Council and other members of the Campaign Council for their wonderful and overwhelming coordination. Indeed we are deeply grateful for the continued support. May God bless you all”.
Dr Takeme went on to express his appreciation to stakeholders, party faithfuls, and supporters for their unwavering support and commitment to his vision, assuring them that he will not disappoint them if elected.
