THE PLANNED MILITARY INTIMIDATION OF ALAPALA SUPPORTERS.

THE PLANNED MILITARY INTIMIDATION OF ALAPALA SUPPORTERS.
It’s no news that the Appeal Court Lagos declared Re-run election in four Units (Units 009, 027, 026 and 008) of Burutu State Constituency 1.
The Re-run election declared by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) timetable is slated for 3rd February 2024, basically for Hon. Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo of APC and Hon. Asupa Forteta of PDP.
Suffice to say that the four Units billed for Re-run are strongholds of Hon. Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo who is already leading with 880 votes.
It has come to our notice that it’s humanly impossible for PDP to regain the Burutu State constituency 1 Assembly seat and that they have resolved to invoke desperation by all means possible.
A source who pleaded anonymity alleged that Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori has instructed to place gunboats in the affected four Units to intimidate Hon. Alapala’s supporters that day for PDP to have their way.
Also, boys are recruited to cause bloodbath if the election didn’t go their way.
Another source who didn’t want his name mentioned revealed that Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori is not comfortable with Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Speakership of the Delta State House of Assembly. His emergence is out of necessity.
That, Hon. Asupa Forteta was the person originally pen down for the speakership position. Hon. Michael Dedien AKA Ejele who lost the Delta State senatorial seat has persistently urged Gov. Sheriff to sustain the structure that projected him to be governor by returning Hon. Asupa by all sinistical approach.
Information in our archive infer that Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori has given a matching order and tied appointees’ would-be appointments to this election.
For the records, over a decade now Burutu LGA have not experienced hostile elections. No record of gun dwell or election casualties.
From all indications, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori is poised to reintroduce the ugly trend of do or die elections in Burutu Local government area.
Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori should understand that Burutu is not Okpe. We are calling on him to stay clear for the Re-run election slated for February.
Every attempt to sabotage and/or disenfranchise our supporters from exercising their civic obligation on the election day will be resisted by all available means adopted to extricate ourselves from such chain of suppression. We shall resist every attempt of military intimidation and oppression.
What we want is peaceful, free, fair and credible election.

FUBARA AND SUPPORTERS CELEBRATE AFTER APEX COURT UPHELD HIS ELECTION VICTORY.

FUBARA AND SUPPORTERS CELEBRATE AFTER APEX COURT UPHELD HIS ELECTION VICTORY.
By Tobouke Jemine,
In Rivers State and across the Niger Delta, supporters and well-wishers of the Governor of Rivers State jubilate and congratulate him following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Independent Electoral Commission’s declaration of Siminalayi Fubara as the winner of the last gubernatorial in Rivers State on Thursday.
Following INEC’s declaration, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the Rivers State governorship election, Tonye Cole, alleged that Fubara did not resign from his previous position as required by law before the election and that the election itself was characterized by irregularities.
Hence, Cole sought the face of the law to ascertain his claims. But when both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal dismissed Cole’s case for lack of merit, Cole appealed to the apex court to sack Siminalayi Fubara as governor of the state.
But reading the lead judgment, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed Cole’s appeal. Unanimously, the five-man panel on Thursday held that the appellant failed to prove his allegations that there was non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the election.
Following the confirmation of his electoral victory, Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Thursday attended the 4th day of Glory Reign at Salvation Ministry in Port Harcourt, to thank God.The annual church event which began on Monday, January 22, 2024, saw the General Overseer, Pastor David Ibiyomie preach on the theme, “Vengeance for Victory”.
Fubaraubara thanked God and President Bola Tinubu for his fatherly role touching the internal crisis in the party in the State and the litigation against his election.
Fubara also extended his magnanimity and gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as his “Oga” for all his support.
The governor called on everyone to join hands with his administration make Rivers State a truly prosperous and advanced state in all ramifications.
