The Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area (LGA), Double Chief Combolous Ikisa, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Elder Capt., Dr. Joseph I. Timiyan, Agbonu, Torububou-1, the Ibenanawei and Paramount Ruler of Ogulagha Kingdom, on the occasion of his 18th Coronation Anniversary. The Chairman expressed warm wishes for long life and prosperity for the revered monarch.
Chief Ikisa, who is the immediate past Vice-Chairman of Burutu LGA, assumed leadership from his predecessor, Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, who currently holds the position of Commissioner for Housing in Delta State. With an eye on the 2024 Burutu LGA Chairmanship contest, Ikisa has been steadfast in continuing the legacy established by Angele.
At the forefront of Ikisa’s policy agenda is Human Capital Development, where his administration commenced the payment of all oldest men and women across the LGA, provides capital support for micro-businesses and empowering the youth of Burutu to ensure a crime-free Burutu LGA., Infrastructural Development. Recognizing the vital role of the traditional institution in achieving a peaceful and prosperous LGA, Chief Ikisa paid a courtesy visit to the Delta Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council, where he pledged collaboration with the traditional institution led by Agbonu.
The peace ensured by the paramount ruler, Agbonu, holds a pivotal role in the success stories of both Ikisa and his predecessor. As preparations for the 2024 Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DESIEC) LGA elections gather momentum, Ikisa’s policy thrust is expected to incorporate and uphold the significance of the traditional institution.
Ikisa described Agbonu as an icon of peace and progress, acknowledging that the revered king has fostered unity amongst Ijaw Kings and Kingdoms, and promoted the Ijaw Traditional Heritage, promising more dedication to infrastructural development across the LGA which further underscores his commitment to the growth and progress of Burutu. It is anticipated that, if victorious in the upcoming elections, Ikisa will seamlessly continue the sharply marked development agenda passed on to him by Angele.
As the political landscape evolves, Chief Ikisa remains a leading aspirant, positioning himself to lead Burutu LGA into a future marked by sustainable development in collaboration with the traditional institution, and youth/women empowerment.

In a historic and culturally vibrant ceremony, the Grand Iduwini Kingdom has conferred the prestigious chieftaincy title of Osaintarewei of Grand Iduwini Kingdom on Chief (Capt.) Alfred Obonika Waratimi. The honour was bestowed during the 2025 Osuogbosu Binikamai Festival held at Amatu-1 Town in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The revered monarch of the kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Pere Joel Ekeni Ibani JP, Ogiobo-IX, Grand Pere of Iduwini Kingdom, personally performed the conferment rites before an enthusiastic gathering of chiefs, cultural custodians, community leaders, and indigenes.
The event, marked by colourful traditional displays and deep cultural symbolism, underscores the kingdom’s commitment to recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves in service, leadership, and loyalty to the Iduwini heritage.
In his remarks, Chief (Capt.) Alfred Obonika Waratimi expressed profound gratitude for the honour, dedicating it to the people of Iduwini Kingdom and the broader Ijaw Nation. He invoked blessings upon the monarch and the kingdom, praying:
“May the Ascended Masters and Grand Cosmic Beings enfold Ogiobo, Grand Iduwini Kingdom, and the entire Ijaw Nation now and beyond with Light, Life, and Love.”
