President Tinubu Beg CSU to Releases Only Certificate to Atiku, Seeks to Block Further Disclosures.

By Admin.

In a surprising turn of events, President Bola Tinubu has conceded to allow his university certificate to be released to his political rival, Atiku Abubakar. However, the President has fervently implored Judge Nancy Maldonado to prevent the disclosure of additional details, notably his gender and admission records, pertaining to the certificate’s owner.

This development unfolded as part of an ongoing legal battle within the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago. President Tinubu’s consent for the release of his certificate follows his recent effort to avoid full disclosure on September 21. He secured a stay of a magistrate judge’s order on September 19 by asserting severe threats to his life.

Tinubu’s legal team argued, “There is harm in allowing discovery on issues and documents outside the diploma,” in their plea for a review of Judge Jeffrey Gilbert’s order by Judge Maldonado, a district judge.

The controversy surrounding the identity of the individual admitted to Chicago State University in the 1970s intensified when college transcripts indicated the admission of a female Bola Tinubu from Southwest College Chicago in 1977. While Tinubu’s lawyers contended that the documents Atiku sought would not be admissible at the Supreme Court, they appeared to anticipate the potential for an unfavorable ruling. Consequently, they proposed an alternative direction, requesting that the school certify only the certificate Tinubu submitted for election purposes.

Judge Gilbert’s previous ruling mandated CSU administrators to confirm whether the certificate Tinubu provided in Nigeria was genuine. They were also directed to produce a 1979 CSU graduate’s certificate with personal identification redacted and furnish communications regarding a letter the school issued to Tinubu in 2022.

Tinubu expressed concerns that permitting the deposition of CSU officials would cause severe, irreparable damage to his life, suggesting that Atiku was pursuing a fishing expedition to fuel online conspiracy theories.

In today’s filing, a man identifying himself as Olajide Adeniji submitted an affidavit, claiming to have attended school with President Tinubu from 1977 to 1979. However, Atiku’s legal team has consistently argued that the certificate has corresponding records that should be disclosed to establish its rightful owner.

This unfolding legal drama continues to captivate onlookers, as the battle over President Tinubu’s educational history and qualification remains a contentious issue.

FUBARA AND SUPPORTERS CELEBRATE AFTER APEX COURT UPHELD HIS ELECTION VICTORY.

By Tobouke Jemine,

In Rivers State and across the Niger Delta, supporters and well-wishers of the Governor of Rivers State jubilate and congratulate him following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Independent Electoral Commission’s declaration of Siminalayi Fubara as the winner of the last gubernatorial in Rivers State on Thursday.

Following INEC’s declaration, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the Rivers State governorship election, Tonye Cole, alleged that Fubara did not resign from his previous position as required by law before the election and that the election itself was characterized by irregularities.

Hence, Cole sought the face of the law to ascertain his claims. But when both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal dismissed Cole’s case for lack of merit, Cole appealed to the apex court to sack Siminalayi Fubara as governor of the state.

But reading the lead judgment, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed Cole’s appeal. Unanimously, the five-man panel on Thursday held that the appellant failed to prove his allegations that there was non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the election.

Following the confirmation of his electoral victory, Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Thursday attended the 4th day of Glory Reign at Salvation Ministry in Port Harcourt, to thank God.The annual church event which began on Monday, January 22, 2024, saw the General Overseer, Pastor David Ibiyomie preach on the theme, “Vengeance for Victory”.

Fubaraubara thanked God and President Bola Tinubu for his fatherly role touching the internal crisis in the party in the State and the litigation against his election.

Fubara also extended his magnanimity and gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as his “Oga” for all his support.

The governor called on everyone to join hands with his administration make Rivers State a truly prosperous and advanced state in all ramifications.
