By Anthony Beauty
Members of the 6th Legislative Session of Burutu Legislative House led by the then Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze Fuludu has expressed their deep condolences to the Oyakemeagbegha family of Torugbene, especially their colleague, Hon. Ken Oyakemeagbegha, over the death of his father.
Oyakemeagbegha who was the Deputy Chief Whip from 2018 to 2021 lost his father, Pa Dick Oyakemeagbegha to the cold hands of death, at the age of 80.
This was conveyed by the former Speaker and Leader of Burutu Legislative House, Rt. Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze Fuludu in a telephone conversation with IduwiniVoice News desk.
According to Alubeze, the news came as a surprise even though we all know that death is a necessity for all mortals.
“We know that death must come now or much later, but we were not expecting Papa to leave us at this times when Ijaw nation and of course, Burutu people needed him the most.” he said.
The Right Honourable gentleman added that the successes of their tenure as legislatures wouldn’t have been without the massive contributions through uncommon dedication, of their colleague Hon. Ken Oyakemeagbegha.
It was therefore necessary to extend their relationship beyond the life of their tenure in office and beyond politics by standing firmly by Hon. Ken in these grieving times.
“Hon. Ken was our Deputy Chief Whip in the 6th Legislative House of Burutu Local Government Council, while the mantle rested upon our shoulders.
“His commitment and smart initiatives were and are still visible for all to see. It is only natural that we continue to stand by family members like Ken in times like these.
“We are regrouping and working towards giving proper support in every way necessary, once the family announces the Funeral Ceremony Arrangements officially.
“Papa died a fulfilled man, to have had sons like Hon. Ken and many more. He also led a peaceful life which only became a blessing to all he met in his lifetime. We can only console the immediate and extended families, and pray for God Almighty to grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
IduwiniVoice recall that the demise of Pa Oyakemeagbegha, the father of the former Deputy Chief Whip of Burutu Legislative House, Hon. Ken Oyakemeagbegha, was announced in June 2023. Feeders however, indicates that the funeral is being planned for later part of 2023.
