Daura, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State, is currently in top security status in anticipation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s return after eight years as Nigeria’s President.
President Buhari, who will be tagged “Former President” with effect from May 29, after finishing his second term in office, is billed to pass the barton to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was declared the winner of the challenged 2023 presidential election.
As the town prepares to welcome their influential son, who has brought Daura into the spotlight, the Daura Emirate Council is reportedly planning a grand durbar, a traditional horse-riding ceremony, in honour of Buhari, also known as Bayajidda II.
The event is said to also feature other local customs, such as dambe (boxing), Kokawa (wrestling), and Sharo/Shadi (Fulani traditional festival), will also be part of the welcoming celebrations, Daily Trust reports.
However, security provisions have been enhanced around the president’s neighbourhoods, with barriers installed on all roads leading to his residence while the increased security measures restrict access to the president’s residence, in order to ensures the safety of the returning president and his family.
Residents are reported to be expressing delight in readiness to welcome their illustrious leader home.
Alhaji Labaran Maiyadi Daura, a businessman in a chat with Daily Trust said, “We are grateful to God Almighty for showing us the successful and peaceful end of the administration of General Buhari. We have witnessed tremendous developments, not only here in Daura but throughout the nation, and peace has returned to the nation.”
Another resident, Aminu Muhammad Daura, spoke of the town’s excitement for Buhari’s return, praising the president for his contributions to Daura’s development.
He mentioned that Daura is now well-equipped with all amenities necessary for a comfortable life, including robust security measures.
However, some residents expressed mixed feelings, as they anticipate missing the unique privileges that come with being the president’s hometown.

Mr. President also violated the electoral act by asking the APC Female Gubernatorial Candidate of Adamawa State to vote for the APC Presidential Candidate.
Although, the TVC editorial crew made some efforts to cut transmission, but could not escape the violations.
As at press time, it could not be established if they did it to affirm his support for his party’s candidate, in order to clear doubts of nay-sayers.

BREAKING: Buhari, CBN Disobey S. Court Order, Approves Only Old #200 Notes For Use Untill April 10 .

President Muhammadu Buhari has in total defiance to the extended order of the Supreme Court, ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria to recirculate only the old #200 notes for the next 52 days.
This is coming barely a day after the CBN Governor, Emefiele insisted that the banks initial deadline of February 10 remain sacrosanct and declared all old notes of the #200, #500 and #1000 invalid and laid out instructions on how anyone still in possession of same can deposit them into his/her bank account through the CBN.
However, the Same Court of Nigeria had earlier extended an Order made last week, compelling the FG should instruct the CBN to allow both the old and new notes co-exist until the banks gradually withdrew the old notes from circulation.
The order which had been made on a suit filed by Zanfara, Kaduna and Kogi states had since been joined by some other states both on the sides of the plaintiffs and the FG which is the defendant.
Notwithstanding, President Buhari gave the contentious instruction Thursday morning in a live nationwide presidential broadcast over the naira redesign policy which has led to cash scarcity and attendant widespread hardship.
His statement reads in part: “… To further ease the supply pressures particularly to our citizens, I have given approval to the CBN that the old N200 bank notes be released back into circulation and that it should also be allowed to circulate as legal tender with the new N200, N500, and N1000 banknotes for 60 days from February 10, 2023 to April 10 2023 when the old N200 notes ceases to be legal tender.
“In line with Section 20(3) of the CBN Act 2007, all existing old N1000 and N500 notes remain redeemable at the CBN and designated points.”
It is not clear, at press time, if the Supreme Court would take punitive measure against this step that is widely viewed as a contemptuous act by the Federal Government against an order of the highest court in the land.
