Stop Burning Stolen Crude Oil, Save Our Environment. – Bibaikefie to Tantita/NNPC.
In the wake of widespread manhunt for oil thieves across the Niger Delta, Prince (Dr.) Peretengboro Klintin Bibaikefie, has advised Tantita Security Company to twerk their modus-oparandi in handling recovered crude oil.
This was made known to newsmen yesterday in Warri.
While commending the company and the Federal Government over the successes recorded since the Oil Facilities Surveillance Contract was re-awarded to Tantita Security Services Ltd., a company belonging to a revered Niger Delta son, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo late last year, Bibaikefie opined that recovered oil should be resold instead.
He suggested that the NNPC and Tantita work out modalities to return any recovered/seized oil back to the NNPC storage facilities, rather than setting same ablaze and contributing to the already terrible trajectory of environmental pollution across the Niger Delta.
If the NNPC have no storage facilities nearby, the international oil companies should be commissioned to help reinject the crude or refined products back into their Export Terminals.
“We must strive to maximize a “end-to-end” benefits of the war against economic and environmental sabotage” he concluded.
Bibaikefie made this call sequel to an earlier report that operatives of the Tantita Security Services Ltd. apprehended and set ablaze, another barge filled with suspected stolen crude oil last weekend.
